Kenyan sand boa - housing

Kenyan sand boas can be kept all their lives in plastic Rubbermaid containers. The babies can be kept in the smallest sizes, and the adults in the large ones. It is ok to keep a couple of them together, but if you keep a male with a female they will most likely produce babies.

The setup for them is quite simple - a layer of aspen, about one to two inches deep, and a water bowl for drinking. You can also provide a hiding place for them. A simple piece of cork laying flat would be sufficient.

Larger Kenyan sand boas will eat adult mice. When bigger, they will can take two or three mice at a setting.
